Naviance
Naviance is the career and college planning tool used at Downers Grove South High School. There are many resources in Naviance and all students are required to log into Naviance through our Focus Program. Parents are also encouraged to use Naviance.

College Resources
Matriculate - This non-profit organization provides free virtual college advising and pairs low-income students with a gpa above3.5 with current college students to act as their mentor while working with them one-on-one throughout the college and financial aid process.
Collegewise - This company provides free weekly webinars to receive information from current college counselors and former admissions representatives on a wide variety of topics related to the college admissions process. As well, check out this resource library with guides, podcasts, videos, etc. if you are unable to attend the live webinars.
College Essay Guy - This company provideds free guides on picking an essay topic, sample college essays, a guide to the "Why Us" essay, tips on how to complete your activities list of your Common Applicaton, information about financial aid, and much more! Its Matchlighters Scholars program provides high-achieveing students (3.0 and above) low-incme students with one-to-one advising on their college essay for up to 10 hours with a trained college counselor.
College Search 101 YouTube Video Series - This series of videos are fun, short, insightfil, and provide a broad look at the college search and application process.
Concourse - On Concourse, you can be discovered by universities around the world that match your regional, academic, and financial requirements, and receive admissions offers and scholarships with no application required!
Niche - Students can use this free website to take a college search quiz and explore colleges in order to build their list of potential schools. The website also has a college comparison tool and a college chances calculator to help students understand their chances of being admitted.
