The Care Team, an early intervention program comprised of staff members from various departments, is designed to support students with issues related to social, emotional, and academic success. For access to the Care Team Brochure, please check this link.
The specially trained Care Team will support teachers, staff, counselors, deans, and students by:
- Gathering student information
- Developing an action plan
- Implementing FIRST-LINE intervention strategies which may include mentoring
Candidates are those students who are experiencing difficulties or have undergone noticeable changes in one or more of the following areas:
Typically, these will be students who might otherwise slip through the cracks. **Students receiving other support services may not qualify for this type of intervention.
Care Team Intervention Programs
AIM Group: Accountability, Independence, and Motivation. This group meets three times per week during 8th period with freshmen students. Students receive support and assistance with time-management, self-advocacy, organization, and work completion.
Care Team Mentoring Program: Students are matched with a volunteer staff member at DGS. Mentors assist with connecting students to school activities and resources.
Transfer Team: This team offers support to incoming transfer students to help with their transition and access to resources.
Success Group: This group meets three times per week with sophomore, junior, and senior students. Students receive support and assistance with time-management, self-advocacy, organization, and work completion.
