Academic Planning

Prior to December 20, 2023

Teachers meet with students and make recommendations for 2024-2025 courses. Please contact individual teachers with any questions or concerns regarding student course recommendations.

January 10-11, 2024: Advisement Day

Counselors will visit English classes to explain the registration process, which includes a hand out to assist with course selection. 

December 26, 2023

Course recommendations become available on Home Access Center for current students in the Class of 2025, 2026 and 2027. Recommendations are based first semester grades and/or teacher recommendations.

January 11, 2024

Window to choose course requests on HAC will close at 3:00 pm.  Changes to course requests will still be available through communication with school counselors.

January 16-19, 2024: Course Selection for Class of 2027 

Counselor Registration Appointments for the Class of 2027 (current Freshmen). This opportunity will be used to finalize requests or discuss potential options with a school counselor. This will occur during English classes

January 22-26, 2024: Course Selection for Class of 2025

Counselor Registration Appointments for the Class of 2025 (current Juniors). This opportunity will be used to finalize requests or discuss potential options with a school counselor.  This will occur during PE classes.   

January 29-February 2, 2024: Course Selection for Class of 2026

Counselor Registration Appointments for the Class of 2026 (current Sophomores). This opportunity will be used to finalize requests or discuss potential options with a school counselor.  This will occur during US History classes.

January 29, 2024: Class of 2028 Open House

Class of 2028 Open House: Incoming 9th grade students and their parents/guardians will receive course recommendations via email this week, and on Monday, January 29th will have an opportunity to learn more about curricular and co-curricular options.  Information will be sent out to families about this event in late December/early January.

February 3, 2024: Course Selection for Class of 2028

Counselor Registration Appointments for the Class of 2028 (current 8th grade students) to review and discuss course requests for the 2024-2025 school year.  Appointment information will be shared in January 2024.

February 2024

Decisions will be made regarding what courses will be offered based on enrollment. Some students may need to speak with their counselor to select a different course if a course has been cancelled due to under enrollment or has been closed due to over enrollment.

April/May 2024

Some students will need to speak with their counselor during this time to assist in resolving a schedule conflict. Students may need to select a different course to resolve the conflict in their schedule.

August 2024

All students should receive their schedule via Home Access. Course changes will only be made for the following reasons: enrollment process error, failure in a prerequisite course, successful completion of summer school course or scheduling conflicts.

Once the school year begins, a student must go through the formal drop process in order to have a class removed from their schedule. Course drops cannot be initiated until the end of the 4th week of any given semester. A student will not be allowed to drop a course, if, in doing so, he or she would fall below the 6 credit class minimum requirement.
