The Downers Grove South Speech Team placed 2nd at the IHSA Speech Team State Tournament. The team competed in several events, from public speaking to acting and researching current events.
Individual students also placed in several competitions, including Gianna Caponigro, who earned first place in Humorous Interpretation.

Downers Grove South's speech team has won nineteen state championships and thirty three top 3 finishes – the most among any schools participating in IHSA Speech.
