DGS Students Earn National French Contest Recognition

DGS students took the optional National French Contest “Le Grand Concours” this spring and earned recognition for their performance. Sixty-nine students participated in the exam and 21 earned recognitions.
    

Level One

  • Bronze medalist: Mikella Majchrzak
  • Honorable Mention: Hailey Aldrich, Dayana Chaparro, Saray Gomez-Mtz., Riley Flood, Daniel Flores and Isabella Stanevicius

Level Two

  • Platinum medalist: Zevi Davis 
    • Earned a perfect score and ranked number one in the nation

       
  • Silver Medalists: Sydney Stapleton and Alyssa Zoerb
  • Honorable Mentions: Keira McLaughlin, Towako Momozaki, Yasmina Mulcahey, Kimberly Torres and Sam Wleklinski

Level Three

  • Bronze Medalist: Shelby Balsamo
  • Honorable Mention: Levin Kandakudy and Hannah Venzon

Level Four

  • Bronze Medalist: Elizabeth Culcasi
  • Honorable Mention: Noella Ukpe-Roberts

Level Five

  • Honorable Mention: Nonoko Momozaki

“This year, we had a record number of students participate in the National French Contest,” South High School French Teacher Sophia Reuillon said. “I am so proud of our students for choosing to participate in the contest and for how well they did. It shows their dedication, motivation and interest in the French language.”
