What benefits are in place for support staff?

District 99 offers a competitive hourly wage benefits package, including health, dental, vision and life insurance plans. We also offer paid sick and personal time, and paid holidays (between 11-19/year depending on the position). School term staff (36,37, and 42 week staff) also are off for winter, spring and summer breaks. Other benefits include tuition assistance in areas of high need.

What is the role of a guest teacher?

Guest (substitute) teachers cover teacher absences. Guest teachers can choose the days that work best for them. The hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. when school is in session. In addition to a college degree, you must hold a license (PEL/ELS/Sub) from the Illinois State Board of Education.

What is the role of a paraprofessional?

Paraprofessionals work alongside a teacher in a classroom with students with special learning and physical needs. In addition to a high school diploma or GED, you must hold a license (Para, ELS, Sub or PEL) from the Illinois State Board of Education.

What is the role of a job coach?

Job coaches work with students with special learning and physical needs and accompany them to offsite job sites. In addition to a high school diploma or GED, you must obtain a license(Para, ELS, Sub or PEL) from the Illinois State Board of Education.
