Homecoming Week Events

Drive-In Movie Night

Join us for our newest homecoming tradition, our Drive-In Movie Night!  This year’s movie is ”Barbie.”  The film will begin at 7 pm in the Prince Street Parking Lot.  We ask those attending to arrive between 6:30 and 6:45.  Students who wish to attend must reserve their spot here.  We ask that only the car's driver reserve their spot so we can get an accurate count of vehicles in the lot.  The rest of the students in the car do not need to reserve a spot.  Please remember only to bring as many passengers as there are seatbelts in your vehicle.  Don’t have a car…you’re in luck!  You can register through that same link.  Just scroll down toward the bottom and select a “lawn seat.” We ask students who choose this option to bring a chair with them.  This event is free to attend; you must reserve your spot.  Spots will be limited.  We encourage students to bring their own snacks to eat while watching the movie.  We will have small bags of Tivoli popcorn available for purchase.

Student Council Ice Cream Social Food Drive

Donate a canned good during lunch periods outside the Student Activities Office.  In exchange, you’ll receive a ticket for a free scoop of ice cream at Everyday’s a Sundae.

Downtown Downers Grove Scavenger Hunt

Form a team of up to four students and join us as we race through downtown Downers Grove, solving clues.  Figure out the answer to the clue, race to that downtown Downers Grove business, and take a selfie of you and your group in front of that business.  Then, you are off to solve the next clue.  The first three teams to finish will win prizes.  All interested teams of up to four students must sign up here.  The team captain should register the entire group.  There is no cost to participate.  Teams should plan to arrive no later than 4 p.m. at the fountain next to the train station.  The scavenger hunt will begin promptly at 4 p.m.

Wednesday, September 27

Variety Show

North High’s got talent!  Watch our amazing students perform at 7 p.m. in the Clarence Johnson Auditorium.  Admission is free.  This is a show you won’t want to miss!  Be on the lookout for an email from Mr. Mozes about auditioning to perform in this year’s variety show.

Friday, September 29

Marching Band Welcome, Assembly, Parade, Football Game

The Trojan Marching Band will kick off the day by welcoming students and staff before school on the way into the building.  We’ll hold our homecoming assembly in the Purple Gym at 2 p.m. that afternoon.  Please note that we will be using an alternate bell schedule this day.   Our traditional homecoming parade will immediately follow the assembly at 3:15 p.m.  The parade route will begin near the Prince Street Plaza.  Then, join us as our Trojan football team takes on York at 7:30 p.m.  The theme for the game is a PURPLE-OUT!

Saturday, September 30

Homecoming Dance

We’re moving the dance back into the Purple Gym for what’s sure to be the biggest dance our students have ever experienced!  Our dance will take place from 6:30-9:30 PM and will include a full fireworks display at the conclusion of the dance.

  • Tickets and Guest Forms

Tickets are on sale now using the GoFan website and mobile app.  If using the mobile app, search under “District 99 North”.  Tickets purchased before Saturday, September 30, are $35.  Tickets purchased at the dance are $40.  If you plan to bring a guest from another high school, please have your guest complete this form.  A signature from a dean or administrator at the guest’s school is required on this form.  Guests who are no longer high school students but are under 21 are asked to complete this form.  All guest forms must be submitted to the Student Activities Office by Wednesday, September 27.  Guest tickets cannot be purchased without approval from Student Activities.  Also, guest forms will not be accepted at the door on the evening of the dance.  They must be submitted to the Activities Office by Wednesday, September 27.

Each North student can purchase one ticket to the dance.  They will do this through the GoFan site or mobile app.  In the access code box, each student must submit their ID number.  An ID number can only be used once to purchase a ticket. Students should use their school email address when prompted for an email address.  This will ensure the digital ticket is sent to you, not a parent. Those approved to bring a guest will receive a unique access code from Mrs. Mamula.  That unique code can only purchase one ticket for the approved guest.  Only one guest is allowed per North High School student.  A guest must arrive at the dance with their North student and be prepared to show a driver’s license or school ID.  On the evening of the dance, students must bring their student ID and phone to show their digital ticket.  Students cannot show a screenshot of the digital ticket.  The student's email address must be entered when purchasing the ticket online.  Everyone attending the dance must arrive before 7:30 PM.  Once students leave, there is no re-entry.  Refunds will not be issued for purchased dance tickets.

  • Attire

Our homecoming dance is a formal occasion; we ask students to come dressed to impress.

  • Refreshments

Light snacks and water will be served throughout the dance.

If you have questions about the dance, bringing a guest, or purchasing tickets, please stop by the Student Activities Office during school hours.
