Board Meeting Tonight

Board Meeting Tonight

Message sent to all D99 students, staff and famlies at 12:30 p.m. on August 3, 2020

Hello District 99 Community,

As you know, our Board of Education meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. District administration will  propose a “modified hybrid plan” to start the school year on August 17 and then to move to full Remote Learning for the rest of August. The Board of Education must approve a plan before we are able to move forward.

If your family wants your student to opt-out of any in-person learning, we have extended the deadline to this Friday, August 7. Please click here to opt out of the in-person learning of the hybrid model.

I will be reading this message to open the meeting. I wanted to share it with you ahead of time.

As I mentioned, we are limited to how many people we can host in person. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at South High in the cafetorium. The doors will open at 6:15 p.m. If you wish to attend the meeting in person, please follow the line outside the doors to the cafetorium just west of the main entrance. We will close the doors after we reach capacity as established by COVID regulations. Phase 4 guidance provides for a maximum of 50 people; this number includes the participants of the meeting. Once room capacity is reached, we will not allow new visitors to enter the meeting. Masks will be required.

The meeting also will be livestreamed at www.youtube.com/csd99media.

As a reminder, there will be a reception of visitors at the start and end of the meeting. Attendees may address the Board in person. Remote attendees may submit a comment on this form, which is now open and will remain open through the end of the meeting. The Board will listen to attendees for a maximum of 3 minutes per person, for up to 60 minutes in total on this topic. All comments submitted online will become part of the Board record.

As stated in my note last Friday, I will provide an update to you tomorrow.

Thank you,

Dr. Hank Thiele
District 99 Superintendent
