Community High School District 99 announces that 20 students have been recognized as “Commended Students” in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The designation recognizes a student’s “outstanding academic promise,” according to the NMSC.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are recognized, which represents the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
