Erin Ludwick Named Assistant Principal of DGN

Erin Ludwick will serve as assistant principal of Downers Grove North High School starting with the 2018-19 school year

Erin Ludwick will serve as the Assistant Principal for Student Support Services at Downers Grove North High School starting with the 2018-19 school year. The Board of Education approved her appointment on April 16, 2018.

Since 2007, Ludwick has served in a variety of roles at Urbana High School in Urbana, Illinois, a school with over 1,100 students. She taught English and journalism classes, including college preparatory and dual credit courses. She served in a number of leadership roles including as a literacy committee chair, PBIS teacher liaison, instructional coach, and other roles, including providing professional development to staff. Ludwick also served as dean before starting her current role is as assistant principal of attendance and discipline.

Ludwick holds both a Master of Educational Organization/Leadership and a Master in Curriculum & Instruction/Reading from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is currently working on her Doctor of Educational Policy/Diversity and Equity degree at Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Secondary Education from Illinois State University.

“Erin’s wide variety of leadership and classroom experiences will be a tremendous asset to North High since she understands multiple perspectives,” says North High Principal Janice Schwarze.  “We are excited that she will bring fresh ideas that will have a positive impact on our students, staff, and community.”

“I’m looking forward to joining the leadership team at Downers Grove North High School and working with students, families, and staff to further the goals of the school and community,” says Ludwick. “ We will do great work together.”
