New Schedule Begins Tomorrow!

School is open today to those who haven't been back this semester!

Dear DGN Students and Families:

We are excited to welcome almost 80% of our students back to the building tomorrow!  We will be following the Early Release Block Schedule

We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for everyone, so students are asked to review these protocols. Of special note is the importance of maintaining social distancing as much as possible, wearing a multi-layered mask correctly (over the nose and mouth), and washing hands or using hand sanitizer regularly. In case you missed it, here is a link to a safety video we showed all students on the Friday before break.

Students who haven’t been in the building yet this semester/year are welcome to come to school TODAY between 12-3 p.m. to walk their schedule. Students may bring one family member and should enter at Main Street. Upperclassmen will be stationed around the building to help students find their way.

As you know, we have added 10 minutes to the third block Tuesday-Friday. This allows students time to have a snack should they choose to do so. Teachers will provide guidance about when and where students will eat their snack; students may only eat their snack at the designated time as strict guidelines must be followed.  Students will be able to pick up a small snack on their way into school each morning at the Main Street, Forest Street or Prince Street entrance. Students are welcome to bring their own snack but should avoid bringing anything with peanuts since we have many students and staff with peanut allergies. If a student is uncomfortable being in the room while others are eating, they will be allowed to step in the hallway for a few minutes.

Finally, students are reminded that the Forest Street entrance is closed after the first block of the school day starts. Students who come later in the day should enter at Main Street or Prince Street.

I know it has been a challenging year, but let’s all commit to finishing the semester strong!
