On the fence? Message from DGN Principal Schwarze

We want to see you in person on April 6!

Dear North High Students and Families,

As we have shared, we will be following a new schedule starting Tuesday, April 6, the first day after spring break. The Early Release Block Schedule allows us to open our school building safely to in-person learning to all students at the same time.

We are happy to invite--and we strongly encourage--all students who do not have a medical reason to learn remotely to return to school in person. Please take a few minutes to hear from some of our students about the many benefits of being at school. (Students! After you watch the video created by Cable 99 Video Club, complete this Google Form by this Sunday at 10 p.m. for a chance to win a $20 gift card.)

To make you feel more comfortable, any student who has not yet been in the building since the start of the semester is invited to come to the school on Monday, April 5 between noon and 3 p.m. to walk their schedule. The student may come alone or bring one family member. There is no need to sign up ahead of time, but students and family members who do come should enter at the Main Street entrance and be sure to social distance from others and wear a mask.

If you’re still undecided, consider the fact that we are likely to be back to full in person learning in the fall (except for those with documented medical reasons), and it is much easier to ease back to in-person learning now - for only 28 days - than it will be in the fall.

If you haven’t already done so, please complete this form to let us know your plans. If you’ve already completed the form but have changed your mind, you can edit your response. All forms need to be completed by this Friday, March 19.

I miss seeing all of our students. Since I am retiring after 30 years working in education after this school year, I would love to see as many students as possible in the building. I hope to see you April 6!

Thank you,

Ms. Janice Schwarze
