District 99 Board of Education and Support Staff Association Reach 2-Year Contract Agreement

On July 1, 2026, the District 99 Board of Education approved a two-year contract agreement with the Illinois Education Association, which is the collective bargaining unit for District 99’s Support Staff Association.

“We are excited to come to an agreement that offers new opportunities for our team, and keeps us competitive for attracting and retaining employees,” said District 99 Superintendent Dr. Hank Thiele.

“Our support staff members are invaluable to the daily operations of D99; their work and dedication are essential to the success of our students and schools,” said Board of Education President Don Renner. “We are proud to approve this contract, which reflects our appreciation for all of their hard work, and is mutually beneficial for both our staff and the district as a whole.”

“The District 99 Support Staff Association and District 99 administration worked collaboratively over the past several months to reach a two-year agreement,” shared Maria Georgiou and Ruby Montano, chief negotiators for the SSA, in a statement. “As with any negotiation, the process involved thoughtful discussion and difficult decisions. While the agreement reflects compromise by both parties, we appreciate the professionalism, respect, and commitment demonstrated throughout the bargaining process and remain focused on supporting our staff, students, and school community.”

The contract includes over 200 support staff members.
