Update on Meals

Update on Meals

Hello District 99 Students and Families,

Although breakfast and lunch will not be served on school premises while we are following a remote or hybrid schedule, we will continue to meet the nutritional needs of all students.

Weekly “To-Go” Meal Packages

Starting August 17, District 99 will resume offering weekly “to-go” meal packages. (While in school, students may drink water, but may not eat.)

As we did over the summer, weekly “to-go” meal packages will be distributed at set locations throughout the community every Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These packages (containing five breakfasts and five lunches) will be available to all students. (Families that may be eligible for free or reduced meals are encouraged to fill out the online application. Families must apply for this benefit every year.) Those not needing financial assistance may purchase the meal packages for $26.25.

You can see menus and other meal information for North High and for South High. Please note that items will not be prepared; some meal items may come frozen.

Every student wanting to pick up a “to-go” meal package on Mondays must sign up every Thursday by 5 p.m. the week prior to the Monday pick-up day. Click here to sign up and to select your location. You must sign up by Thursday, August 13 to receive a meal package on Monday, August 17. Please note that this form must be completed using your student’s CSD99 email account to submit an order.

Meal Accounts (MySchoolBucks)

Recognizing that not every student will order meal packages, we are preparing to transfer any balances in meal accounts and apply it as a credit to students’ district accounts. As a reminder, school fees will be assessed the week of September 14 and due by October 16. See more information about fees.

If you sign up for a weekly “to-go” meal package, we will take the funds from your MySchoolBucks account.

If you have any questions about meal service or your meal account, please contact the bookkeeper at your school: At North High call 630-795-8423 and at South High call 630-795-8523.
