District 99’s two high schools are in the top 15% of Illinois schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 listing of America’s Best High Schools. Among 665 Illinois high schools, North High was ranked 45th and South High was ranked 98th.
“We are proud of the fact that both of our schools are among the best in the state and in the nation,” says Dr. Hank Thiele, superintendent. “The success of our students reflects the efforts of the teachers, staff, parents, caregivers and volunteers who make our schools outstanding places for students to learn, grow and prepare for the future.”
