District 99 opened the 2016-17 school year on August 25, welcoming all teachers and staff back into the buildings. The first day of school for students is on Monday, August 29.
New D99 Superintendent Dr. Hank Thiele opened the school year first by playing trombone in the D99 staff band--and then introducing himself to all teachers and staff and encouraging everyone to share their stories. Outside speaker and author Dr. Robert Brooks talked about resilience, motivation and the importance of relationships.
