South High student musicians have earned placement into the 2020 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-District Band, Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Audition videos were submitted to the ILMEA, and were adjudicated by a panel of professional musicians. The top placing scores were selected for participation in the virtual District Music Festival on November 21, 2020.
"The experiences these students have at the District Festival ignite their passion for music, and in turn, they return to South High School and ignite the passion of those around them," said South High Fine Arts Chair Glenn Williams. "Additionally, South High is equally well represented in all areas of ensemble performance – band, choir, orchestra, vocal jazz and jazz band - in this process."
