DGS Senior Selected for National Hispanic Recognition Program

Downers Grove South High School senior Luc Alvarez was selected for The College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program. Alvarez was also recently selected as a National Merit Semifinalist (NMSP) representing the top one percent of seniors across the country competing for NMSP scholarships.

“Congratulations to Luc on this well-deserved honor,” South High School Principal Ed Schwartz said. “Luc’s academic success in high school will serve him well on his path to college and beyond.”

The College Board National Recognition Programs grant students academic honors that can be included on college applications. Colleges use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT and in their classrooms.
