If you registered online for the race, you have a few options regarding how we can handle your 2020 registration fee:

1. We can give you a full refund.
2. We can roll your 2020 registration fee over to next year's event (date TBD).
3. We can donate your registration fee entirely to SCARCE and Rainforest Trust, which are the beneficiaries of this year's all school philanthropy.

Please contact Amy Klug at aklug@csd99.org by April 6 to determine your registration funds. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy, and that we come back to an amazing event in 2021! Take care!

The Downers Grove South High School Key Club is hosting its eighth annual Mustang Trot 5K Run/Walk to benefit SCARCE and the Rainforest Trust on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at South High School.

Race registration for adults is $25 and students are $20. Race participants can register online (no longer taking registrations) or by mailing in a form to South High Key Club by April 16. Credit cards can only be used for online registration. If a community member does not want to participate in the run/walk, they can still make a donation. The race begins at 9 a.m. with packet pick-up and registration starting at 8 a.m.

Last year, Key Club’s Mustang Trot raised $6,000 for Erika’s Lighthouse. For the 2019-20 school year, the South High student body voted to support SCARCE and the Rainforest Trust as their “DGS Thinks Globally and Acts Locally” campaign.
“South High students have had the opportunity to earn environmentally-friendly items such as reusable straws, bags and water bottles, for sharing their environmentally-friendly actions on social media,” South High Student Activities Director Jennifer Martinez said. “We look forward to raising money and environmental awareness through the Mustang Trot.”

In order for Key Club to be able to donate as much as possible to the philanthropies, the Mustang Trot is seeking donations from local businesses and corporations. To be listed on the t-shirt, sponsors must be confirmed by March 22. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, visit the sponsor page on the race website or contact Amy Klug at aklug@csd99.org.

Race begins and ends on Norfolk St., by the parking lot at Downers Grove South High School. Pre- and Post-Race activities will take place in the Large Gym at Downers Grove South High School. Parking will be available in the staff/student lot.

For a $5 donation, children can participate in the Pony Trot obstacle course in the large gym during and after the 5K race. Face painting and pictures with Marty the Mustang will also be available.
