Umoja's For the Culture Creative Show: Feb. 13

The “For the Culture” Creative Show is a showcase of arts and passions performed by students who are members of a club at Downers Grove South High School called “Umoja” (oo-Mo-Jah) which means “Unity” in the Swahili language. This phenomenal black, culturally relevant unit has worked together to celebrate black history month in a sensational way. The sponsors are creating a platform for many teens who are poets, singers, artists, dancers, steppers, and actors to express the historical beauty and hardship of black culture through their gifts. Witness the zeal of interwoven generations for justice and equality like our predecessors. Lastly, a radical motivational speaker will end the evening with a bang!

Join us on February 13th at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. Admission is free. We just encourage all those who attend to bring a gently used book or puzzle to support our DGS Thinks Globally and Acts Locally Campaign!

Everyone that donates a book or puzzle for SCARCE will receive a raffle ticket and have the chance to win a prize!
