South High hosted Wellness Day on Wednesday, May 1, for all staff and students, which included more than 30 informational booths, demonstrations, an array of healthy snack foods and activities for students of health, physical education and drivers education classes. Student volunteers, part of the Physical Education Leaders program, assisted vendors at their booths and engaged with their peers to promote the organization and their wellness ideas.
“One of the goals of our program is to provide students the tools to live an active and healthy lifestyle.” South High Physical Education Department Chair Scott Lange said. The wellness fair is an excellent opportunity for health-oriented community organizations to connect with students to showcase programs and services aimed at improving the lives of teens and their families.”
