South High celebrates the 2018 Homecoming Week September 17-22. Below is a detailed list of school-wide events each day! Students: Be sure to get your tickets for the Powder Puff football game, the Homecoming Variety show and the Homecoming Dance “Dance with the Stars.”
Also, South High will induct five new members into its 2018 Class of Distinguished Alumni. Read more details here!
Monday, September 17
- Staff and Student Dress Up Theme: PJ Day
- Powder Puff Football Game at DGS Stadium, 6 p.m.
- Tickets: $5 at the Gate (Class Board fundraiser)
- Freshmen vs Juniors: 6 p.m.
- Sophomores vs. Seniors: 6:45 p.m.
- Championship game: 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, September 18
- Staff and Student Dress Up Theme: Sports Jersey Day
- Hallway Decorating at 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 19
- Staff and Student Dress Up Theme: Meme/Vine Day
- Homecoming Variety Show at 7 p.m.
- Location: Auditorium
- Tickets: $5, sold in C149 and at the door (Fundraiser)

Thursday, September 20
- Staff and Student Dress Up Theme: Decade Day (Freshmen 60's , Sophomores 70's , Juniors 80's, Seniors 90's, Staff pick your favorite decade!)
- Homecoming Olympics at 3:30 p.m.
- Location: Fieldhouse
- Distinguished Alumni Ceremony at 5 p.m.
- Location: Front foyer at main entrance

- Community Movie in the Park at 7 p.m.
- Location: DGS practice fields at corner of Dunham and 63rd Street
- Movie: The Greatest Showman
- FREE for all community members!

Friday, September 21
- Staff and Student Dress Up Theme: Blue on Blue
- Distinguished Alumni Presentations throughout school day
- Homecoming Assembly at 2 p.m.
- Location: DGS Large Gym
- Homecoming Parade at 3:15 p.m.
- Route: South on Springside, East on Bolson, North on Dunham
- Homecoming Football Game vs. Addison Trail at 7:30 p.m.
- Location: DGS Stadium
- Sophomore game at 5 p.m.
Saturday, September 22
- Homecoming Dance: “Dance with the Stars” at 7 p.m.
- Location: Large Gym (West Events Entrance)
- Tickets: $20 (9/10-14), $25 (9/17-21), $30 at the door (DGS students only), advances sales in Bookstore
- No date necessary
