Kimberly Tobin

Faculty

Kim Tobin came to Downers Grove South in 2014 and serves as a teacher in the World Languages Department. She teaches English Language Learners, provides English/Spanish translation and interpretation for District 99 students, parents, and staff, and facilitates District 99’s Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee. Over the course of her career with District 99, she has taught ELL Lifeskills I, Bilingual Global Studies, and Bilingual Biology.

Prior to coming to District 99, Tobin served for one year as an aide in the Literacy Department at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Illinois. Before this, Tobin spent two years in Spain as an English teaching assistant. She also has experience in the non-profit and political sectors, working and completing internships in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Ohio.

Tobin received a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Oberlin College and a Master of Art’s in Teaching in History from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
