Timothy Cappelen

Timothy Cappelen began teaching at District 99 in 2008, serving as both the Driver Education Teacher and Head Sophomore Baseball Coach at Downers Grove South. In his role as Driver Ed teacher, he teaches behind the wheel and in the classroom, and he manages the website Blendspace.

Prior to joining the District 99 community, he worked at Westmont High School for 3 years and at Conant High School in Hoffman Estates for 4 years.

Cappelen received a B.S. in Physical Education K-12 from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL in 2001 and an M.S. in Academic Administration from Concordia University in River Forest, IL in 2012.

Cappelen aims to develop knowledgeable drivers that respect the great responsibility it is to be a licensed driver. He and his wife Diana, a Spanish teacher at Elk Grove High School, married in 2009 and have two children: Isabella and Calla.
