NCAA: Prospective Student Athletes

It is extremely important that prospective student athletes understand the NCAA initial-eligibility requirements as well as the registration procedures. Your counselor can help you with the process.  Students should become familiar with NCAA Eligibility Center website (link located in the right column).

Student athletes who are considering becoming an athlete at a Division I or II college or university need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center after the completion of their junior year in high school.  To register, please do the following:

  • Register as a prospective Student-Athlete on the NCAA Eligibility Center website (link located in the right column)
  • The registration fee is $75.00 for U.S. students and $130 for international students
  • Please complete the North High Transcript Request Form, check the box marked "NCAA" and return the form to the College and Career Center (Room 127) with $3 for your transcript fee.

After April 1st, student athletes (seniors) need to request final amateurism certification, which must be done to be eligible for fall competition. Student-athletes will need to go to the NCAA Eligibility Center's web site, log on to their account, and then select "Enter/Update Amateur Questionnaire" on the left side of the screen.
