Career Exploration

A large part of a person’s life will be spent working. The average individual will work 40 or more hours a week, 50 weeks a year, from about age 20 until retirement, which adds up to 90,000 hours over a lifetime. Therefore, it is important that individuals spend much of that time enjoying what they do.

All students are encouraged to explore their career options by identifying their goals, interests and skills, which will help them focus on those college majors and careers for which they are best suited. The Family Connection program allows North High students to explore their interests and research careers, free of charge.  Students and families should contact the College & Career Center (630-795-8021) or the student’s counselor for log-on information.
