Scavenger Hunt - between 4 and 6 p.m. in Downtown Downers Grove

Join us for a scavenger hunt! Get a team of three or take part in this event alone, just be sure to wear a mask and follow all social distancing guidelines.   Everyone who wishes to participate must register by noon this Thursday.  At 4:00 pm Thursday, all who register will receive an email from me with their scavenger hunt clues.  You must figure out which downtown business your clue is describing.  You (and all team members if you are competing with a team) must go to that business and get your picture taken in front of it.  Then you are off to solve your next clue.  Once you've completed all of them you'll stop by the train station to check-in with Ms. McDonald and Ms. Spahr-Thomas.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing teams.  The first-place team will receive $100 in gift cards.  Second place will receive $75 in gift cards.  And, third place will receive $50 in gift cards.

Register now! (Registration closes at noon on Thursday)

Friday, October 9

Dress-up Theme:  Class Colors - Show us your class pride by wearing your class colors.  Freshmen wear grey, sophomores wear white, juniors wear purple, and seniors wear black.

Drive-In Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off at 7 p.m. in Prince Street parking lot

Join us for DGN's first-ever drive-in movie!  Please note, we can only admit a limited number of attendees due to COVID safety precautions, so be sure to register before it sells out.  The cost is $20 per car or $5 for one of our limited "lawn seats."  This event will only be available to those who register.  When arriving, each car/person will check-in with our security staff and will be directed to a parking spot in the Prince Street lot.  Cars will be parked in every other spot to provide social distancing between cars.  Sound from the movie will be streamed through an FM radio station.  Cars may begin arriving to the Prince Street lot at 6:15 pm Friday.  All cars will need to be in the lot by 7:00 pm.

Register now! (In the left column, scroll down and select "Homecoming Drive-In Movie Night Cars" if you are registering a car.  If you wish to register for a "lawn seat" scroll down and select "Homecoming Drive-In Movie Night Lawn Seats.")

Attendees must follow these guidelines:

  • Those riding in the same car should be from the same household
  • Please limit the number of riders in the car to the number of seatbelts in the car
  • To prevent large gatherings of groups outside cars, and to maintain social distancing between parked cars, we will only allow two people to sit directly outside their car in a chair or blanket.  Additional people may sit in the car to watch the movie, or in the back of an SUV, minivan, or pickup truck.
  • Masks will need to be worn by anyone sitting outside a car
  • We will not be selling food or drinks, but those attending are encouraged to bring their own
  • Restrooms will only be available for emergency situations and we will limit the number of people at a time in the restroom
  • Remember, all school rules apply

Saturday, October 10

Virtual Homecoming Assembly at 7 p.m. - Watch here!

Our Homecoming Assembly is a cornerstone of our Homecoming Week.  While we can't hold our traditional assembly this year in the Purple Gym, we're bringing a virtual assembly to you.  Our virtual assembly will premiere at 7 pm next Saturday and feature student performances, recognition of our in-season teams, and our Homecoming Court.  New this year, we'll be naming our first-ever Homecoming Royalty.

Homecoming Pictures Outside the Tivoli: Monday-Friday at 4 p.m.

While we are unable to hold a dance this year to give you an occasion for some great pictures, we've partnered with the Tivoli to give you an incredible photo opportunity.  Between Monday at 10 am and Friday at 4 pm the Tivoli marquee will feature a North High School Homecoming 2020 message.  Remember to practice your social distancing and stop by the Tivoli for a memorable Homecoming 2020 photo opportunity.
