A group of teachers at District 99 is now piloting a new system called "ParentSquare" to communicate with the students and families in their classrooms. The pilot will take place through the end of the school year. An account has been automatically generated for each parent/guardian of these pilot classrooms, using contact information in Home Access Center. You will see messages from your student's teachers in the pilot on ParentSquare, but not communications from other teachers or general school and district communications.
We will collect your feedback from the pilot to determine if District 99 will move forward with this platform. If we do, then all communications and calendar information from teachers, your school and the district will be available starting next school year.
To participate in the pilot, we encourage families to access their account and download the mobile app:
NOTE: We are piloting ParentSquare with select teachers. Only students in class with these pilot teachers are included in the system at this time, so not all students in a family will be visible in the system. If we adopt this tool fully in the fall, which would consolidate several existing tools onto one platform, all students will be included. You will continue to receive emails, calls and text messages from the pilot teachers without taking any action; however, we request that you activate your account when prompted, and consider downloading the mobile app, in order to experience the benefits of this system.
Here are some of the things you can do using ParentSquare:
- Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
- Choose to receive information instantly when it's sent out, or all at once in one message daily
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Direct message teachers and staff
- Participate in group messages
