Health and Safety Protocols

On Friday, February 25, 2022 the CDC changed its guidance on community transmission levels and COVID mitigations. The CDC’s new COVID-19 Community Levels recommendations align precautions for educational settings with those for other indoor community settings.

DuPage County is Currently in Low Transmission and the CDC recommends that individuals:

  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters
  • Maintain improved ventilation throughout indoor spaces when possible
  • Follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, including getting tested if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19

This results in the following COVID protocols in District 99 beginning February 28, 2022:

  • Individuals must stay home when sick
    • Individuals returning from a COVID illness should mask for 5 days after returning
  • Individuals should follow the CDC recommendations for isolation/quarantine
    • District 99 will not be contact tracing or excluding students
  • People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, returning from quarantine following a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
    • Respect for individual choice is expected.
    • Wearing of masks on school buses or school vehicles is no longer required [reference]
    • Masks are required in the health offices
  • Maintain improved ventilation throughout indoor spaces when possible
  • There are no recommendations for continued additional physical distancing
  • Those that are immunocompromised should consider these additional measures to protect themselves.
