Parents: Welcome to Blackboard!
Blackboard is an online interface
accessible by the District 99 school community, either as a registered
user or as a guest.
With Blackboard, teachers can create an
online presence to support their classroom instruction and can post to
the World Wide Web information about their classes and classroom
materials.
Teachers can also add 21st Century tools
such as chat areas and discussion boards to provide students with new
strategies for communication.
PLEASE NOTE:
Blackboard use is optional in District 99.
PLEASE NOTE:
Blackboard does not provide access to
online grades. That is a separate
system. Access the Pinnacle Online Grades system
here.
How do students use Blackboard?
Students login to the Blackboard system
from any Web-connected computer and the Blackboard assembles each
students coursework in one interface. With a single login,
students are able to access the Blackboard site and see all of their
classes and get the information they need, when they need it.
Why are some classes unavailable?
This is an optional tool for creating
class Web pages, and its use is at each teacher's discretion.
Can parents see courses?
Absolutely. Parents can access
courses through
guest access from the main
Blackboard
Portal Page, in the Parents and Guest module.
What if we are having technical
problems accessing Blackboard at home?
Limited tech support is available
through email. Individuals experiencing a technical issue with
Blackboard at home can
submit a help request. The request will be
addressed as soon as possible.
