STRIVE
S
uccess Through Reaching IndiVidual Expectations

STRIVE is an after school program designed for freshmen to provide a structured environment where students can complete homework assignments, conduct research, write papers, work on projects, and/or study for tests.  A commitment to solid attendance in the program from the student and his/her family is mandatory to enroll in STRIVE.

South High School faculty members and National Honor Society students staff the program.  The faculty and honor students provide academic support and tutoring.

Students who belong in STRIVE:

  • Student who is struggling with homework.
  • Student who is struggling with the concepts being taught in classes.
  • Students who are disorganized.

A hard-working STRIVE student can expect:

  • To raise his/her GPA during the twelve-week program.
  • To decrease the number of classes he/she is failing faster than a student who does not attend STRIVE.
  • To increase the number of classes in which he/she earns a C grade or better.
  • To learn valuable study skills that will help throughout his/her educational career.
  • To feel more comfortable approaching his/her teachers when facing difficulties.
