Reserving Equipment

48 Hour Notice

The Multimedia Center has had a full slate of deliveries recently, and I just wanted to remind everyone that, especially now, we need 48 hours notice on all major equipment deliveries (TV's, PC's, projectors, etc.).

Even with 48 hours notice, there is a good chance that some popular items may already be unavailable, so it's very important to let us know as soon as possible when you need deliveries.

Of course, we will always try to accommodate last-minute needs such as delivering a TV/VCR to a substitute teacher whenever we can, and some small items such as cassette players are usually available for last-minute pickup.

You can check on your scheduled deliveries online if you choose. Just visit the Multimedia Center webpage and click on "AV Scheduler".

Reservation Notes

CD/Cassette Recorders

Due to the small number of CD/Cassette Recorders available, CD/Cassette Recorders cannot currently be checked out to keep for the entire year.  You may check out CD/Cassette players as needed, either by the period or by the day.  We hope to have more CD/Cassette players next year to help meet demand.

If you do not use CD's in your classroom, consider checking out Cassette Recorders instead.  There are currently Cassette Recorders available for checkout for the entire year.

Video Projectors

Due to the extremely high cost of LCD projector bulbs ($400-$500 each), we will no longer be delivering LCD projectors to rooms with 36" monitors.

Still Cameras

Due to security concerns, 35mm cameras and Digital cameras will not be delivered to your room.  Please pick up the cameras at or around the time of your reservation.

DVD Players

New DVD players have been installed into classrooms this past summer.  In a number of classrooms, we have replaced old VCRs with combination DVD/VCRs.   All the units have been tested and the corresponding remotes have been issued.  Thank you for your patience in transitioning into the upgraded equipment.  If anyone would like more information about using your new DVD/VCR unit, please contact the Multimedia Center.

If your department wishes to purchase DVD players for exclusive use by your department, we will be happy to supply quotes for a compatible unit and security cabling.

Student use of equipment

In general, students are not allowed to pick up equipment without prior arrangement between the staff member and Multimedia.
