DANCE STUDIES (11, 12)

| Dance Studies is a course offered as a dance option for satisfying the Fine Arts
requirement. The class is intended for students in grades 11-12 who have previous dance
experience. |
| Dance Studies will focus on various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, and
modern. Students will work on developing technique, creating choreography and
improvisations, and improving performance skills. Dance Studies will offer an environment
in which students can experience the role and meaning of the art of dance in diverse
social, cultural, and historical contexts. Through reflective practice, study, and
evaluation of their own work and that of others, students will enhance their technical
expertise and artistic expression. |
