Thank you to the staff and students who donated blood at the blood drive this week! If you would still like to donate, please go to a LifeSource and give them the code 133G within the next 2 weeks. Only 6 more donors will get us to our goal to ensure scholarship money for students!
DGN Trojan Soccer Meeting: All returning soccer players to meet Wednesday, May 31st after school. We will go over important information about summer plans and tryouts. Please be in attendance.
Attention any boys interested in playing golf next year. There will be a brief informational meeting on Tuesday May 30th in 046 after school at 3:30. If you have any questions please see Coach Calderone or Coach Glazier.
All girls interested in trying out for the Girls golf team need to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday May 30 at 3:30 in room 046. Any questions see Ms. McCormick
The annual DGN Theatre Celebration and Thespian Induction will be held on Thursday, June 1st at 4pm in the Studio Theatre, room 248. Come celebrate all of our accomplishments this year by sharing memories, congratulating our new Thespians, saying goodbye to our seniors, and eating some tasty food. All students who have participated in theatre productions or Drama Club events or workshops this year are invited to attend. Kindly RSVP to Mr. P. or Mrs. V. no later than Tuesday, May 30th, so we can place our food order. We look forward to seeing you there!
The end of school is near! As you clean out your lockers, think about donating any new or gently used supplies instead of throwing them out. Look for collection boxes on each floor during the week of May 30th to June 5th. Direct Action will collect the items and donate them to SCARE, a local non-profit organization.
W-D-G-C, your radio station, is looking for DJs for summer shows. If you are a current freshman, sophomore, or junior, you can sign up to have a radio show over the summer. W-D-G-C 88.3 FM rocks out 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. And you can listen online at wdgc.csd99.org. The meeting for summer radio shows is next Tuesday after school in room 174.
There will be a girl’s cross country meeting on Wednesday, May 31st in room 119 at 3:30. Any girl who is planning on running cross country in the fall should plan on attending this meeting. If you have any questions, see Coach McDonald in room 119.
Do you need help with homework or test preparation before the school year ends? Come to North’s STRIVE tutoring program today after school. Teachers and peer tutors answer questions, review course material, and teach study and organizational skills. STRIVE meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 in room 349. Walk-ins are welcome. See you there!
Attention all boys interested in joining the cross country team this fall. We will be having an informational meeting on right after school on Wednesday May 31st in room 307. We are always looking to add new members to our team so come out and see what Boys Cross Country is all about.”
Any current sophomore or junior interested in trying out for the baseball summer league team please meet down in the Driver’s Ed room at 7:30am Friday morning for an informational meeting. Please see Coach Briscoe if you can’t make it.
Attention all Boys Basketball Players: If you are attending summer camp, you will need to attend a mandatory meeting promptly after school on Thursday in the underground track from 3:30-3:45. Summer camp, leagues and weekend shootout schedules will be released. Contact Coach Thomas if you have a conflict.
Attention French Club - sign up now for our end of the year lunch at Mon Ami Gabi Thursday, June 8th from 1 to 3pm. Cost is $25 and includes an appetizer of cheese or escargot, a main dish of steak frites or quiche and a dessert of crème brulee or chocolate mousse. Sign up with Ms. Houlihan by Fri, June 2nd.
Attention Seniors, if you didn’t’ get a chance to pick up your cap& gown, they are available in the student activities office.
On Tuesday, May 30th, head over to Fishel Park in Downers Grove to hear the DGN Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band perform their final concert of the year. The concert will begin at 6:00pm, so bring a picnic dinner and relax on the lawn as you listen to some great jazz!
The DGN Chamber Choir will perform their final concert of the year on Thursday, June 1st. The concert will begin at 7:00pm in the Clarence Johnson Auditorium and we hope you’ll come out to support the choir one last time!
