On Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m., the District 99 and District 58 Orchestras will perform with the professional music group “PROJECT Trio” from Brooklyn, New York. The concert will be held in the Clarence Johnson Auditorium at North High School in Downers Grove. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door, while supplies last.

“We are thrilled to welcome PROJECT Trio and honored to have our students play alongside these incredibly creative professionals,” says Jennifer Mullen, director of the District 99 Orchestra. “PROJECT Trio has received rave reviews for its high energy, genre-defying performances, and we know the concert will excite and inspire both our students and community.”

In addition to student musicians from North High and South High School in Downers Grove, O’Neill Middle School and Herrick Middle School students will also perform during the program.

PROJECT Trio performs internationally and leads workshops in schools, universities, festivals and other venues throughout the United States; its YouTube channel has over 85 million views and 100,000 subscribers, making it one of the most watched instrumental ensembles on the internet. The Wall Street Journal hailed PROJECT Trio for its “wide appeal, subversive humor and first-rate playing.” Gramophone Magazine wrote: “An ensemble willing and able to touch on the gamut of musical bases ranging from Baroque to nu-Metal and taking in pretty much every stylism in between.”
