District 99 Names New Leaders at North High, District Office

On April 17, 2017, the District 99 Board of Education approved the hiring of three new administrators for the start of the 2017-18 school year.

  • Lisa Bollow will become the director of special services at the district office. She will be responsible for managing all aspects of District 99 students with disabilities placed in public, private, therapeutic schools and residentially placed students. Bollow currently serves as the department chair for special services at Addison Trail High School, a position she has held for the past seven years. Bollow previously served as an assistant principal at both Lyons Township High School and Addison Trail High School, where she focused on student discipline, counseling and student support services. She has also served as a dean of students and a special education teacher. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Illinois State University. She lives with her family in Downers Grove.

  • Dr. Robert Lang will become director of innovation in teaching and learning at the district office. He will provide leadership and vision in the areas of professional learning, innovation and digital learning. Most recently, Lang worked at Woolf Fisher Research Center at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand, where he was a postdoctoral research fellow, researching curricular and instructional leadership, strategic planning, and communications. Previously, he was the director of instructional technology in Glenbard Township High School District 87, a science teacher at Glenbard South High School, and an engineer in private industry.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Science from National-Louis University, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Lewis University, and Doctorate of Education in Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction from Aurora University.

  • Mark Mirandola will become director of student activities at North High, where he will lead and oversee all aspects of the school’s activity programs and sponsors. He has led the school’s Career and Technical Education department as chair since 2011 and has served as an assistant for student activities for the last two years. While at the school, he has helped to create, organize and plan numerous student activities, including pep assemblies, N-Zone, leadership retreats and school fundraisers, as well as establish meaningful partnerships with numerous area businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master of Arts in Teaching Business Education from Chicago State University and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia. He currently serves as president of the Chicago Area Business Education Association and is on the board of directors for the Illinois Business Education Association. Mirandola has also made numerous professional presentations throughout the state.

Bollow, Lang and Mirandola will start their new positions on July 1, 2017.
