2017-18 Staffing Ratio – Student enrollment has dropped steadily since 2008 and is projected to be flat through 2032. Based on projections, Superintendent Dr. Hank Thiele and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Pete Theis recommended an instructional staff-to-student ratio of 21.8:1 for 2017-18, which represents 226.0 full-time employees. Dr. Thiele explained that planned retirements at the end of this school year eliminate the need for a reduction in staff. The 21.8:1 ratio has been used since the 2012-13 school year. The Board will vote on the recommendation at its meeting on January 23.

Resolution passed – The Board unanimously passed a resolution opposing the detachment of properties located in Oak Brook and supporting that the properties remain part of District 99.

The next Board of Education meeting will take place on January 23, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
