District 99 Goals 2004-2007

Goal 1: Student Learning

Improve the performance and growth of all students on designated academic achievement outcomes and student learning goals.

Objective 1

Improve student performance on the Illinois Learning Standards 

Indicators of Attainment

  • Student performance on the Prairie State Achievement Exam will increase.
  • Student performance on the PLAN and ACT will increase. As a group 11th grade students will demonstrate greater than expected progress on the PLAN/ACT Linkage Report.
  • Student performance on the Terra Nova will increase.
  • A majority of students in the first three quartiles by class rank will increase their reading comprehension by at least one stanine on the Terra Nova test from the eighth grade administration to the tenth grade administration.

Objective 2

Support site-based activities addressing designated student learning needs. 

Indicators of Attainment

  • Growth/Improvement evidenced by the analysis of relevant student learning data (i.e., PSAE, Terra Nova, PLAN/ACT link, semester exams, school improvement data).
  • Observed student behaviors (i.e., climate surveys, discipline statistics, attendance, ASSIST data).

Objective 3

Expand among all groups in the school community the collaborative work culture and knowledge to support professional growth for student learning.

Indicators of Attainment

  • Number of staff trained in collaborative skills increases.
  • Agendas and minutes for meetings of work groups evidence collaborative activity.
  • Staff surveys reflect higher levels of collaborative activity in designated work groups.
  • Anecdotal data provides evidence of collaborative relationships among staff.

Objective 4

Support professional growth activities related to improving teaching strategies that address designated student learning goals.

Indicators of Attainment

  • Professional Growth opportunities are linked to the department's guaranteed and viable curriculum efforts.
  • Professional Growth opportunities are aligned with identified student learning goals.
  • Professional Growth opportunities support district and campus school improvement initiatives.
  • Professional Growth opportunities support individual staff needs related to their professional growth plan.

Goal II: District Resources

Secure the resources needed to provide stable, long-term financial support and adequate sites for the District's educational programs.

Objective 1

Implement a financial plan that provides balanced operating budgets annually to fund high quality educational programs.

Indicators of Attainment

  • Annual operating budgets are balanced at a sufficient level to support student learning. 
  • Reserve levels are sufficient to avoid major swings in the annual expenditure levels for student learning.

Objective 2

Address the site issues at both campuses to effectively meet student program needs and maximize the effective operation of school sites.

Indicators of Attainment

  • A plan is developed to address the long-term site needs of each school.
  • The outdoor student program needs of each school rely more on sites owned/controlled by District 99 than by other agencies.

Goal III: Community Engagement

Build community involvement and pride of ownership in District's services and resources.

Indicators of Attainment

  • The structure and membership of school district committees reflect broad community involvement. 
  • The activity and donation level of the District 99 Education Foundation are reflective of a thriving non-profit organization.
  • Community survey results reflect support for the school district.
