Downers Grove South High School is seeking nominations for alumni members to receive its “Distinguished Alumni Award” for 2018. The Distinguished Alumni Award program recognizes Downers Grove South alumni who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have honored the legacy of excellence at South High School.
To be considered for induction in 2018, nominations must be received through the online nomination form by April 10, 2018. Any nominations submitted after April 10 will be considered for the 2020 awards program. Alumni who are selected will be recognized at a ceremony and banquet on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
“The Distinguished Alumni Award does more than honor its recipients; it also further illustrates the great value of the academic programs and student involvement at South High,” said South High Activities Director Jennifer Martinez. “This award increases the pride all former students, current students, staff and faculty have for their high school.”
New recipients are inducted every other year. In 2016, the South High Distinguished Alumni Award recipients included Jill (Kroese) Aspegren (1983), Dr. Mark Hersam (1993), Emil Martinec (1976), Greg Smith (1982).
