ACTIVITIES
ACE Members - the Stampede is here! We will have a large group meeting for ACE and Stampede on Thursday in the auditorium. 7:30 AM. Everyone interested in participating must attend. Questions contact Mr. Molinari.
ATTENTION THOSE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING FOR THE LITTLE MERMAID. Auditions will be TODAY Wednesday, March 15th in the Little Theater at 3:30. If you are interested in auditioning for the final production of the season, please pick up materials on the drama board in the music wing or see Mrs. Proimos with any questions. See you there!
Registration for the 2017 Mustang Trot 5k Run/Walk is now open! The event is on Sunday, April 9th at 9:00 am. All proceeds will go to Special Olympics Illinois. Students get a special rate of $20.00 per participant and are eligible for prizes such as DGS Spirit Wear and gift cards to local vendors! You don’t have to win the race to win a price! Get a registration form in Student Activities today!
Attention Adventure Club: parent permission forms are available in D170 for our outing to Skyzone next week. Spaces are limited so hurry up and sign up.
Attention Spanish Club: Come join us on TODAY, March 15, for game night. We are going to play all those games from past and present that you love. The meeting takes places in D277 at 3:30 pm. We hope to see you there.
Attention Freshmen, Sophomores & Juniors:
DGS will be hosting a College Exploration Night on Wednesday, March 15th, at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium for students and their parents. There will be representatives from four different types of colleges/universities - Selective, Public. Large and Small Private. There will also be representatives from the Armed Forces available to answer questions. Also, a session in Essay Writing will be offered. If you have any questions, please stop by the College & Career Center.
The Downers Grove American Legion Post #80 is seeking participants for their American Legion Auxiliary Illinois Girls State Leadership program. The camp will be held at Eastern Illinois University from June 18- 26. The program offers hands-on experiences in the operation and fundamentals of government. Camp registration fees for participants are paid by the sponsoring American Legion post. Registration is open to those students who will be entering their senior year in August 2017. If you are interested, please stop by the Social Studies office (D272) to pick up an application.
Cultures in Alliance (CIA) will hold our annual Talent Show on Friday March 17th in the Cafetorium at 7pm. “The World’s Got Talent” will be a celebration featuring DGS students and staff showcasing their unique abilities. Tickets will be $5 for admission, with proceeds donated to the Special Olympics. CIA will also hold our annual raffle. Prizes include a 50/50 cash prize, custom painted Adirondack chairs, and other gifts. Raffle tickets will be $1 each. Please stop by A110 and see Mr. Vetri to purchase raffle tickets.
ATHLETICS
There will be a short informational meeting for anyone interested in Girls Golf on Tuesday March 21st at 7:20 am. in room C146. Please contact Coach DeGiulio if you have any questions.
