Volleyball to Honor Beth Dunlap on Oct. 15

The North High Varsity volleyball team will celebrate the life of Beth Dunlap prior to their match against York on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 5:15 p.m.. This commemorative event, named “Shine Beth's Bright Light,” will raise money for The Beth Dunlap 18 Foundation.

On Oct. 15, the sophomore volleyball match begins at 4:30 p.m. After the conclusion of the sophomore match, and prior to the start of the varsity warm-up, the special pre-game ceremony will take place around 5:15 p.m.

“This year would have been Beth’s senior season and we want to commemorate her legacy and memory,” North High counselor and varsity volleyball coach Mark Wasik said. “We thank the community for their continued support of our team, our school, and Beth’s family.”

Donations to The Beth Dunlap 18 Foundation will get attendees a purple light-up bracelet and, prior to the varsity match, together will light up the gym as a symbol for Beth's light that continues to shine. Tickets can be purchased in the cafeteria or counseling office to receive the wristband at the match. Also wristbands can be purchased at the game, prior to the ceremony, while supplies last.

In order to continue the 18 for 18 efforts in Beth's honor, attendees will have the opportunity to complete a pledge card which will be posted on the walls in the gym. Also at the game, BethStrong T-shirts and baked goods will be for sale.
