DGN Final Exam Week Schedule

Final exams take place Wednesday, May 23, Thursday, May 24, and Friday, May 25.

Final Exam Week

Student help day - May 21

Monday, May 21 is a regularly scheduled late start day with first period beginning at 9:20 a.m. However, on this day, all teachers will be available beginning at 7:40 a.m. for academic support in preparation for semester exams. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to come to school early and get help, as needed, but attendance is optional before 9:20 a.m. For students who rely on regular school transportation, in addition to our typical late-start run, we also will run our regular day bus routes/times. There will be two “waves” of bus arrivals.

For example, on Mondays, most buses arrive at approximately 9:00 a.m., and on Tuesday-Friday, they arrive at approximately 7:30 a.m. On May 21, school starts at 9:20 a.m., and students may choose to take the early bus and arrive around 7:30 a.m. for academic support OR take the regularly scheduled bus and arrive around 9:00 a.m.

It is important to understand the purpose of this day. For some departments, teachers will be assigned by course, so not all faculty will be available for questions on every course they teach. If there are a large number of students that come in for assistance, patience is important. Students should have questions prepared in advance, and not expect to be retaught full lessons. Students can ask their current teachers to further explain the structure and expectations that will be used within each department.

Faculty assignments can be found here.

The cafeteria will be closed until 8:30 a.m., at which point breakfast will be available for purchase. The library will be open for quiet study. The Test Center will also be open at 7:00 a.m. All students who come early must either be in a classroom working with a teacher, in the library studying quietly and independently, or in the Test Center. Students may move from classroom to classroom as needed but will not be allowed to gather and socialize in the hallways or other open spaces. Student supervisors and security will monitor the halls.
