Audience Protocol for Business & Workshop Meetings


The meeting agenda includes two opportunities for comments from the audience. 

  • The first reception of visitors is intended for audience members who wish to address the Board about action items on the meeting agenda.

  • The second reception of visitors is at the end of the meeting.  This is intended for audience members who wish to address the Board on any topic pertaining to Community High School District 99.

Where responses are appropriate, they will be provided in writing following the meeting.

Comments will be limited to three (3) minutes to provide all visitors an equal opportunity to address the Board. Individuals needing more time should submit their thoughts in writing to the Board’s recording secretary.

Visitors addressing the Board need to come to the microphone and state their full name and address; the proceedings are tape recorded for the purpose of producing accurate meeting minutes.

The Board’s presiding officer reserves the right to modify these protocols if circumstances warrant. Audience observance of these protocols is appreciated.
