Today was something of a change for Ruben. Instead of continuing his visits in the Math department he was scheduled to spend most of his day with Bob Richards in his Computer Science labs and classrooms. Since Ruben is the co-sponsor of the computer program and computer club at his school, he was very interested to learn all about our program at South. Ruben spent time observing the classes and labs, talking to the students and answering their questions about his school. He spent the last two periods of the day talking one on one with Bob about computers. Ruben was quite pleased with all the information he was able to gather and he assured me he would put it to good use back at his school. Ruben managed to find some time during the day to work with Tim Elliott on his web page. He reported to me that he was really making progress on it and hoped to have it finished before he left South. Rounding out his very busy day, Ruben and I met with a reporter from the Suburban Life who interviewed Ruben about his reactions to America and his stay in District 99. As always Ruben was happy to cooperate and I promised him I would send him a copy of the interview when it appeared in the paper. Submitted by Carol Redell |
